Leadership and consultancy

As an experienced leader and consultant I can offer short or long-term support from a small piece of consultancy around a specific project through to taking on the leadership of a department or organisation during a period of transition. I am based in England but have led a number of high profile initiatives across the UK and internationally. Examples of leadership and consultancy roles include:

  • Developing a long-lasting strategy for the RSC’s Education Department
  • Managing the expansion of a department from five to nearly twenty
  • Leading the creation and delivery of the RSC Certificate in Teaching Shakespeare
  • Overseeing the creation and launch of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Teacher Development Fund

  • Providing consultancy on the leadership-focused professional development work of Culture, Creativity and Education
  • Advising literature organisations on how to generate better advocacy for their work
  • Providing consultancy on the National Theatre's work for secondary schools and FE colleges
  • Leading a national and international consultation on successful ways of teaching Shakespeare
  • Setting up and running the Inspiring Tomorrow’s Audiences’ conference (2003), the UK's first conference on digital and online arts educational resources for schools, attended by more than 300 people, referenced here
  • Leading and contributing to successful funding applications
  • Entrepreneurial approaches to business through setting up and running my own companies (arts4schools; Head-Line Communication Ltd)
